Saferway Driver Training School Ltd.:

Saferway has become a leader in the driver education and transport training industry by providing certified programs with content and duration geared to industry needs. Our commercial instructors all have many years of experience in the transport field. Saferway is licensed and bonded under the Motor Vehicle Act through the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC). We are an approved Graduated Licensing Facility and an Instructor Training Facility. Since 1999, Saferway has been owned and operated by Randy and Donna Eckert. Randy Eckert has a long history in the transport field; he has been involved in just about all aspects of the commercial transport industry since 1974, from operating a multitude of tractor trailer configurations, engine makes and models, to management, supervisory, training and public relations positions. Saferway provides training in a wide variety of equipment and configurations for best student learning and experience into the industry. Our classrooms provide involvement, interaction, and socialization, along with a business-like approach to getting the job done. Our goal is to create an effective learning situation in the classroom and in vehicle.

Team Bio:

	(The Chief):Randy Eckert, is the President of Saferway Driver Training School Ltd., and has owned and operated the business since August, 1999. Randy is involved in all aspects of the business and student training. Randy been involved in just about all aspects of the commercial transport industry since 1974, from operating a multitude of tractor trailer configurations, engine makes and models, to management, supervisor, public relation positions, and training. He was also a firefighter and trainer for Sidney Volunteer Fire Department and president of Sidney Volunteer Fireman’s Association. Randy has been qualified by The Supreme Court and Provincial Court of British Columbia as an expert witness and has also provided professional opinion reports to various agencies. 	Donna Eckert,Financial Manager:   Donna's professional education is in business administration and bookkeeping, and she has previous experience in the science, legal, service, and high tech sectors.
	Amie Davies, Administrative Assistant:   Amie has a certificate in Leadership Development from Camosun College and has been employed with Saferway since 2005. In her previous employment she was responsible for supervision of staff and volunteers of a busy warehouse as well as truck scheduling and routing.
	Ian Wright, Class One/Five Instructor :   Experience: Road Building, Consulting, Transportation, and Tour Bus Operation.
	Ken McKendry,Class One/Five Instructor, Transport Theory, Load Security, TDG, Hour Of Service, NSC Compliance:   Experience:Transport Manager, Safety Officer and compliance, and Owner operator for Fed Ex Ground. Many years in the long haul/highway and local delivery.
	Larry Hurdle,Class One/Five Instructor, Transport Theory, Load Security, TDG, Air Brake and Assessment Officer:   Experience: Many years in the logging industry and concrete mixer, aggregate.
	Dan Richardson,Class Six Instructor:   Experience: 20 years rider experience, class one operator general freight, courier driver, manager operator of vacuum truck.
